Lignetics is one of the pioneers in the pellet fuel industry. The company
was founded in 1983 by Dr. William Pickering, retired Director of NASA’s
Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and a group of investors who had the vision
to see that our country was in need of a clean renewable alternative
to carbon based fuels. They purchased a small pellet plant in Sandpoint,
Idaho and over the years that facility, under the direction of the then
General Manager Ken Tucker, developed into the premier pellet manufacturer
in North America.
In 1993 a second plant was opened in Doniphan, Missouri, which was replaced
in 1997 by Lignetics third and largest plant in Glenville, West Virginia.
Today, Ken Tucker, now Lignetics President and CEO, continues to implement
the ideals of its founders. He leads this company into the future and
oversees Lignetics dedication to quality, customer service and expanding
capacity. Lignetics is dedicated to manufacturing the highest quality,
best value wood fuel pellets available.
